Theme of the Novel Holes

       The theme of the story is that no matter what happens it happens for a reason. For example when Zero told Stanley that he was the one who stole the shoes. He knew that he was going to be in more trouble than he was already was in. But in the end Zero found his mother. After they were reunited with their family then they had a huge celebration. That is the theme of Holes.

The theme of the first story is that you need to work to your dreams.

The theme of Joshua's story is that just because you are different  doesn't mean you don't matter.
